This guide is designed to support employers who have signed the Social Care Commitment. It contains everything you need to get the best from your commitment, including guidance on how best to plan and organise undertaking tasks in the workplace and how to encourage sign up from your staff.

Making the commitment – a guide for employees

This guide is for all employees who are thinking about making or those who have already signed up to the Social Care Commitment. It contains everything employees need to get the most out of their commitment including what it means in the workplace and guidance on planning and undertaking commitment tasks.

Care Improvement Works

This is an online tool which provides access to free guides, learning tools and resources which you can use to improve your service. We highly recommend taking a look at this part of the SfC website as a CQC registered provider.

Finding and keeping workers

Supports adult social care providers of all sizes with their recruitment and retention challenges. The website provides a range of free resources including guidance on how to find and recruit staff with the right skills, values and talent to work in social care.

The Manager Induction Standards

(MIS) set out clearly what a new manager needs to know and understand and are a measure of good practice.

This is a one-stop shop for developing yourself, strengthening and differentiating your organisation and providing better services.

The toolkit, which can be accessed online free or ordered in hard copy, explains why a positive workplace culture is so important, details the business benefits for culture and provides activity sheets and scenarios to help providers embed a positive workplace culture.
